“The first case in Korea where a sponsor dedicates a theme song to a team”
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jang Hana = Kia’League of Legends World Championship’ (hereafter World Championship) performed a theme song to support the 2nd consecutive victory of the defending champion Damwon Kia.
On the 11th, Kia released the sound source and music video of ‘Go or Stop?’, a theme song that singer Sunmi, who is known as a fan of Damwon Kia, participated in writing and composing, through various online music sites at home and abroad, as well as Kia, Damwon Kia, and Sunmi. It was announced on the official YouTube channel.
With the concept of future gamers, the music video expresses the image of gamers active in a space that symbolizes the future of e-sports. The various Easter eggs (messages or functions hidden for fun) that symbolize Damwon Kia, and the splendid performances of Sunmi and the choreography team are also to be seen.
DAMWON KIA will use the theme song ‘Go or Stop?’ as the entrance song for major domestic and international competitions in the future.
Kia previously signed a multi-year naming sponsorship with Kia Damwon in December of last year. Kia explained that this project is the first case in Korea where a sponsor dedicates a theme song to a team.
A Kia official said, “We hope to convey the sincerity of Kia to e-sports fans and set a good precedent for sponsorship projects. I look forward to it,” he said.
DAMWON Kia, who will participate in the 2021 Worlds as the No. 1 seed of the LOL Champions Korea (LCK), will play the first match against the Chinese LPL’s FPX in the opening match of the Worlds Group Stage on this day.
