Open Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Eui-gyeom, a former reporter, apologized for saying something was wrong about the house in Yeonhui-dong, Seoul, which was sold by the father of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.
Rep. Kim posted on Facebook on the 1st, “I will correct it. Yesterday (September 30), I appeared on MBC Radio’s ‘Kim Jong-bae’s Concentration’ and I corrected two errors in what I said.”
Earlier, on MBC radio, he said, “Isn’t it strange that Professor Yoongi-joong, the father of former president Yoon, sold the Yeonhui-dong house to the older sister of Kim Man-bae, who is at the center of the ‘Daejang-dong favoritism’? What this means is that ownership is transferred in April. And pay the mid-payment in May, and then pay the balance in July. However, the ownership is transferred first in April.”
But this was not true. Rep. Kim corrected the remark, saying, “Professor Ki-joong Yoon’s ownership of the house was transferred on July 2, after the balance was paid.” In addition, Rep. Kim said on the radio, “(Former President Yoon) was the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. He said, “I uploaded my father as my own father, not as an independent living, but as a joint living,” he said. This was also different from the truth. Rep. Kim corrected, “When the public officials’ property was disclosed during the time of the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, the property of Yoon’s parents was refused on the grounds of ‘independent living’.”
He added, “I made a mistake by making a mistake in the facts. We offer our sincere apologies to Candidate Seok-Yeol Yoon and Professor Yoon-Jung Yoon.”
