A North Korean freight train entered China 24 months after the border between North Korea and China was closed.

The North Korean freight train departed from Sinuiju, North Korea, which is the border region, and crossed to Dandong at around 9:10 am today through the Choong-Uui Bridge connecting North Korea and China.

North Korean sources said the train is expected to enter North Korea tomorrow with emergency supplies.

It is known that the freight train operated with the final approval of Chairman Kim Jong-un will return from China loaded with emergency medicines and daily necessities.

As the Corona 19 in northeast China subsided, North Korea and China sought to resume land trade using railroads from last year, and in November of last year, they concluded discussions to resume freight train operation, but this was canceled due to the re-spread of Corona 19.

It is still unclear whether this freight train operation means a full-fledged resumption of land trade between North Korea and China.

However, given that material exchanges have officially begun, it is analyzed that there is a possibility that North Korea may lead to a gradual reopening of its borders.
