Kim Kwan-woo defeated Taiwan’s Xiang Yu-lin with a set score of 4-3 to win the Street Fighter V final held at the Hangzhou Esports Center in China on the 28th.
Kim Kwan-woo, who has enjoyed fighting games for over 30 years, stands tall as the first champion of the genre.
With e-sports becoming an official sport starting from this tournament, it is also the first historic gold medal won by the Korean national team.
Previously, FC Online’s Kwak Jun-hyuk (23, KT Rolster) won the bronze medal, giving Korean esports its first ever Asian Games medal.
