Actor Kim Woo-bin (33), who took a break from entertainment activities due to a battle with nasopharyngeal cancer, is returning after 6 years.
Kim Woo-bin, who debuted as a model in 2008, has appeared in a number of works, including movies ‘Friends 2’, ‘Technicians’, ‘Twenty’, ‘Master’, dramas ‘A Gentleman’s Dignity’, ‘School 2013’, ‘The Heirs’ and ‘Uncontrollably Fond’. and gained popularity. Tall physical and stable acting skills made him stand tall as a popular male actor in his 20s.
However, after the end of ‘Uncontrollably Fond’ in 2016, Kim Woo-bin, who only thought he was taking a break, stopped his activities in 2017 after announcing the news of his battle with nasopharyngeal cancer.
It must have been a big disappointment for him and his fans, as it was a period when he was at his peak as an actor.
Since then, Kim Woo-bin, who has devoted himself to treatment, has appeared in public for the first time in about three years as a presenter at the 2019 Blue Dragon Film Awards. At the time, he said, “I was ill a few years ago. Many people supported me and prayed for me to overcome it. Thanks to this, I was able to greet you quickly with a healthy image.”
The industry’s interest in Kim Woo-bin was still hot, and after that, he was cast in the movie ‘Alien + Human’ and the drama ‘Our Blues’ and started acting again. And after focusing on filming two works last year, the results will be released this year.
First of all, ‘Our Blues’ is a story about cheering for all life standing at the end, climax, or beginning of life. Then, with director Choi Dong-hoon’s new film ‘Alien + Human’, he even took over the screen. ‘Alien + Man’ is a work that depicts an extraordinary story unfolding as the door of time opens between the swordsmen who want to occupy the new sword rumored to be in the late Goryeo and the present where aliens appear.
Not only that. Recently, by announcing the casting news of Netflix’s new series ‘Delivery Driver’, he expanded his activities to OTT. ‘Delivery Driver’ is a work that depicts the year 2071, when it is impossible to live without oxygen breathing apparatus due to extreme air pollution.
Kim Woo-bin, who foresaw activities in various fields this year, from CRT to screen OTT. Expectations are high as to what he will show as an actor in his 30s, who will stand in front of the public again after a long battle.
