Kim Yeon-kyung, 17 points in China’s comeback… Shanghai win

Women’s volleyball star Kim Yeon-kyung (33) led her team Shanghai to victory by scoring 17 points in her first Chinese league comeback game in four years.

Kim Yeon-kyung’s team, Shanghai, won the Chinese Women’s Volleyball Super League 2021-2022 Raoning 3-0 at the Jiangmen Sports Center in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, China.

There was concern that Kim Yeon-kyung’s position would be narrowed as the Chinese Super League suddenly allowed only one foreign player to stand on the court, but Kim Yeon-kyung overtook Jordan Larson (USA) and added her name to the starting lineup.

Kim Yeon-kyung, who reported the first goal by blocking making a 5-5 tie in the first set, then scored 5 points only in the first set with a bang that pierced the corner of the court.

In the second set, as a substitute for Larson, he scored various goals such as back attacks and blocking, and in the early third set, he played the role of a solver by scoring consecutive goals.

After scoring the most 17 points for both teams, Kim Yeon-kyung went to the bench to arrange physical strength in a situation where they were leading 22 to 16 in 3 sets, and the game ended in a 3-0 victory.
