I met Kim Yun-jin, who played ‘Sun Woo-jin’ in ‘Paper House: Common Economic Zone’, a work that has been receiving a lot of attention from around the world since it was released on Netflix. ‘House of Paper: Common Economic Zone’ is a Netflix series depicting an unprecedented hostage robbery in the background of the unification of the Korean Peninsula, where genius strategists and robbers with different personalities and abilities fight against extraordinary variables. ‘Seon Woo-jin’, played by Kim Yun-jin, is a crisis negotiation team leader belonging to the Gyeonggi Police Agency of the Republic of Korea and a negotiator in the South, who catches loopholes in the robbers with excellent abilities and sharp eyes. Internally, her head is complicated because of a custody dispute with her ex-husband, but she is receiving comfort from ‘Park Seon-ho’ (Yoo Ji-tae), who runs a cafe.
Kim Yoon-jin said, “The remake of a famous work, the thick fan base of the original, and the short time to prepare the character, I chose this work because of the diversity of ‘Sun Woo-jin’. .” He explained why he chose this work.
Kim Yoon-jin said, “When I first read the script, I found ‘Sun Woo-jin’ to be very attractive. Because the running time was shorter than the original, I couldn’t deal with it as delicately and detailed as the original. She has a mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s and is a character that shows complex and diverse aspects of dating ‘Park Seon-woo.’ For a faster development, I met ‘Park Seon-ho’ for two months and set the situation as a flirtatious relationship. It’s short to show the scene where they meet, but I thought about it a lot and filmed it with Yoo Ji-tae to fill in and express deep emotions.”
In the play, Yoo Ji-tae and the police and the robber are in a great confrontation, but Kim Yun-jin plays the role of loving each other at the same time. Kim Yoon-jin said, “Yoo Ji-tae was active around the same time as me, but Yoo Ji-tae was a great CF star that appeared when he turned on the TV from the beginning. At that time, without Yoo Ji-tae, he was a young star to the extent that anyone would want to shoot so many CFs. But when I received this script, the only person who was cast was Yoo Ji-tae. After hearing that, I was relieved to think that I would focus on this work accurately.”

He tries to keep his emotions even when the camera is off, and he puts a lot of effort into the role even on set. Even though I’m a junior in the drama, I filmed it with a lot of leaning on it.”
Regarding the bad scene with Yoo Ji-tae, Kim Yoon-jin said, “It was a mature melodrama that I did after drinking ‘Sun Woo-jin’ and going to ‘Park Seon-ho’ when ‘Sun Woo-jin’ was too hard. It was a scene that wasn’t high-level, but I did a lot of exercise for that scene because she was an actress. I’m not a woman, but a woman whose job is to fire a gun, so I had to feel the physical characteristics to be able to express my abs and arm muscles well, so I did some exercise. He said that he would wear a top and proceed. Although there were characteristics of the character, it was a scene with consideration that I wish I could stand out more in a short love scene.”
In fact, Kim Yun-jin, who doesn’t drink even a single drink, said, “I wanted to show a sad but cute drunken woman in the scene where I met a robber at the Mint and drank with ‘Park Seon-woo’. But I wondered what kind of state of mind Seon Woo-jin would be in. It wasn’t just a drink after an ordinary day, but rather the situation after meeting the robbers and losing a devastating defeat through a live broadcast watched by the entire nation. I wanted to see it. Fortunately, it’s a short scene with Yoo Ji-tae, but it’s a scene I made on set because I liked it because it seemed to explain the character’s feelings.” made me realize that
Kim Yoon-jin said that Yoo Ji-tae was a really good junior. “I know a lot of good works, I know a lot of good writers, and they always try to give me good stimulation and support. ‘Shiri’ female warrior Kim Yun-jin has to be like this.” He texted me. The background of the Korean version of Berlin was very good, and Hae-soo Park made this role delicious and fun. In the original, ‘Monica’ (Korean version) ‘Miseon’)’s character was very attractive. It made me wonder what that woman would choose. If I was in my early 30s, I would have coveted the character of ‘Miseon’ played by Lee Joobin.”
