Xinhua News Agency, Tokyo, December 6 (Reporter Jiang Qiaomei) Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida delivered a policy speech at the plenary meeting of the House of Representatives and the Senate on the 6th, emphasizing that the domestic economy will be recovered as soon as possible.
Kishida said that the necessary fiscal expenditures should be used to revive the economy as soon as possible. His specific measures include building a submarine cable around Japan in about three years, and combining large-scale data centers, optical fiber and 5G to provide high-speed and large-capacity digital services across the country.
In his speech, Kishida also talked about his views on issues such as the prevention and control of the new crown epidemic in his country and the strengthening of infrastructure construction.
Kishida stated that Japan will take about a year to formulate a new national security strategy, defense plan outline, etc., with a view to “rapidly strengthening Japan’s defense capabilities.”
This provisional parliament will open from the 6th to the 21st, during which the ruling and opposition parties in Japan will start a debate on the new crown epidemic response and economic recovery. On the 6th, the Japanese government submitted the largest supplementary budget in history with a total of 35.98 trillion yen (approximately 2.02 trillion yuan) in the interim parliament.
