KLPGA ‘Irrespective’ Rookie of the Year King Eun-soo Jang, first wins on Dream Tour

Eunsoo Jang (23), who won the Rookie of the Year on the Korean Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour in 2018, won her first title on the Dream Tour.

On the 14th, on the last day of the second round of the KLPGA Lakeside Dream Tour held at Gunsan Country Club (par 72) in Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do, Jang Eun-soo defeated Jang Ji-yeon (21) in overtime to take the top spot.

Eunsoo Jang and Jiyeon Jang finished the third round with a total of 11 under par 205 and played overtime on the 18th hole (par 4).

Overtime went on six times, setting the second longest record in Dream Tour history.

Eunsoo Jang put an end to the long game by putting a 6m birdie putt in the sixth overtime.

In the 2017 KLPGA Tour Rookie of the Year race, Eun-soo Jang pushed Park Min-ji (23) to 2nd place and became the rookie of the year.

However, they have never won a championship so far, and they lost their seed last year and are playing on the Dream Tour this year.

On the professional stage, this is the second win since the jump tour victory in 2016.

Eun-soo Jang, who became the first in the Dream Tour prize money ranking by receiving 37.8 million won in prize money, turned on the blue light on her return to the KLPGA Tour.

Eunsoo Jang said, “After losing the regular tour seed, it was very difficult psychologically. In particular, I haven’t been able to putt well in the past, but in this tournament, regardless of the outcome, I decided to just do a good stroke and it led to the victory.”
