Kolon Global builds clean hydrogen value chain in Chungju

[월간수소경제 박상우 기자] Kolon Global will invest 200 billion won to build a clean hydrogen value chain in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province.

Chungju City announced on the 6th that it had signed a business agreement with Chungcheongbuk-do and Kolon Global to build an eco-friendly clean hydrogen value chain at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seoul.

According to this agreement, the three parties plan to build a base for clean hydrogen production and supply by utilizing the geographical features of Chungju located in the center of the inland and abundant renewable energy sources such as Chungju Dam.

In particular, we will build a green hydrogen production facility using blue hydrogen and water electrolysis technology that minimizes carbon emissions during the production process, and promote the creation of the RE100 industrial complex based on this.

Through this, Chungju expects to create jobs and induce employment for about 2,400 people, and secure a clean hydrogen source that can charge about 1,200 hydrogen cars a day.

The city of Chungju plans to set up an appropriate business location within this year in consultation with Kolon Global and start the business.
