Korean archery wins all world championships… Kim Woo-jin’s first three gold medals

The Korean archery team achieved the feat of winning all sports at the World Archery Championships for the first time in 12 years.

Woojin Kim won the gold medal in the men’s recurve men’s individual event held in Yankton, South Dakota, USA, beating Brazil’s Marcus Daimeida 7-3.

In the women’s individual final, Jang Min-hee won the championship by defeating Casey Cofold of the United States 6-0.

With this, our archery team won the mixed team event, the men’s team event, the women’s team event, and also won the men’s and women’s individual events, taking all five gold medals in this competition.

It is the first time in 12 years that Korea has won all events at the World Archery Championships since 2009 in Ulsan.

Kim Woo-jin achieved three gold medals by winning the individual event following the mixed event and team event.

Ansan, who once again tried to win three gold medals following the Tokyo Olympics, lost in the semifinals and failed to achieve three consecutive majors in two major tournaments. Ansan added the bronze medal by defeating Mexico’s Alejandra Valencia 6-4 in the bronze medal match.
