Hangzhou, China – In a thrilling match at the 19th Baduk Asian Games, South Korea’s Shin Jin-seo emerged victorious against China’s Yang Ding-xin in the men’s team final. The intense competition took place at the prestigious Chinese Academy of Sciences branch in Zhejiang on October 3, 2023.

Korea defeated China in the men’s team final of the tournament held at the Chinese Academy of Sciences branch in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China on the 3rd.
In a simultaneous 5-on-5 match, 9-dan Shin Jin-seo, Shin Min-jun, and Park Jeong-hwan defeated China’s 9-dan Yang Ding-xin, Ke Jie, and Mi Yu-ting in their turn, and Korea managed to secure the gold medal by winning three games.
Korean Baduk, who previously only won a bronze medal in the men’s individual event and a silver medal in the women’s team event, managed to save face with this gold medal.
In the men’s individual semi-final on the 28th of last month, Shin Jin-seo lost to Taiwan’s 9th under Xu Hao-hong in 278 moves and had to settle for a bronze medal.
