Kovid expansion; More districts in C category

Following the expansion of Kovid, more districts in the state were included in the C category. Districts like Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Kottayam are included in C category. No public events are allowed here. The theater and gymnasium will be closed. Worship can only be done online at places of worship. The decision was taken at the Kovid review meeting held today.

Until now, only Thiruvananthapuram district was included in the C category. It was decided to include more districts in the C category in view of the high prevalence of the disease.

Kovid confirmed 49,771 people in the state yesterday. There are currently 4,57,329 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 4,46,391 are under home / institutional quarantine and 10,938 in hospitals. A total of 1346 people were newly admitted to the hospital. Currently, out of 3,00,556 Kovid cases, only 3.6 per cent are admitted to hospitals / field hospitals.

It has been confirmed today that 63 deaths in the last few days were due to Kovid-19. In addition, 77 deaths have been reported which have been appealed by the Central Government under the new guidelines of the Supreme Court. This brings the total death toll in the state to 52,281. Today, 196 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. A total of 45,846 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 3272 is not clear. 457 health workers were affected by the disease.
