Former India batsman VVS Laxman has praised India’s young wicketkeeper batsman Sreekar Bharath. Bharat made an unexpected appearance in the Kanpur Test against New Zealand. Bharat Pad was tied when Wriddhiman Saha had to withdraw due to injury. Bharath, who played beautifully when given the opportunity, shared three wickets. Laxman told Star Sports that Bharat, who came on as a replacement, kept the faith of the selectors. Rishabh Pant is currently India’s first-choice wicket-keeper in Tests. Wriddhiman Saha, 37, will not have a long career. Therefore, Bharath will soon take up the role of second wicket-keeper. He played for RCB in the IPL last season. He has not yet made his debut in international cricket.
