1-0 win over Samsung in the first place match
KT Wiz won the historic ‘first regular season first-place match in a single league’ and set the record for the shortest regular season championship for a new KBO League club.
KT defeated the Samsung Lions 1-0 in the first place match of the professional baseball 2021 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO regular season held at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 31st.
KT and Samsung finished their regular season 144 games with 76 wins, 9 draws and 59 losses, and played a single game to determine the top spot.
By winning their 145th game this year on the last day of October, KT became the final winner of the 7-month long pennant race.
It was a victory made by the fighting spirit of William Cuevas. Cuevas, who threw 108 balls against the NC Dinos on the 28th, took a break for just two days to start, and played a counterattack with one hit and eight strikeouts in seven innings. Cuevas overcame physical limitations and threw 99 balls.

KT, who entered the first-team stage since 2015, won the regular season championship trophy for the first time in seven seasons.
