KT to keep drones safe by flying drones… Installed at Samsung semiconductor plant

KT announced on the 27th that it had built a drone system to strengthen the safety of Samsung Electronics’ DS division’s Onyang plant. The drone system is operated based on an enterprise-dedicated LTE wireless security network. In this way, it is possible to safely protect the video captured by the camera attached to the drone from information leakage. The drone system is designed to closely monitor environmental safety in the workplace by linking with flight control automation technology, fire detectors, and facility temperature detectors.

The drone system is operated through an unmanned operating station. It has the ability to automatically manage multiple drones and stations at the same time, remotely control the drone, and send and receive information. “We will prioritize facility management, night patrol, and atmospheric gas analysis in the sky through KT drones,” said Oh Hyuk-sang, head of the environmental safety team at Samsung Electronics’ Onyang plant.

“With the automatic flight control drone, we are able to more carefully manage the environmental safety of our business sites,” said Park Jeong-joon, head of corporate customer division at KT’s enterprise division.
