KT Wiz won the first place in the 2021 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League 1st place match held at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 31st, winning 1-0 with a final blow by Kang Baek-ho in the 6th inning against Samsung Lions, confirming the 1st place.

This year, KT and Samsung recorded a win rate of 0.563 with 76 wins, 59 losses and 9 draws in the regular season. KT, who tied for first place, lifted the trophy in the 145th game for the first time in history. On that day, starting pitcher William Cuevas became the victorious keeper after taking only two days off, leaving 7 innings, 1 hit, 3 walks, and 8 strikeouts.

KT Wizen, who won the first regular season championship in the 7th season, enjoyed the joy a year earlier than the NC Dinos, who reached the top of the regular season after 8 seasons of promotion to the first team last year.

KT Wiz has been nicknamed the ‘last club’ for a while. In 2015-2017, they were at the bottom of the league (10th), and in 2018, they finished ninth. However, KT, which ended the season in 6th place in 2019, took 2nd place last year and reached the top this year.

KT, which has been confirmed to advance to the Korean Series for the first time in the club’s history, will challenge for the first integrated championship (regular season and Korean series championship). The first game of the Korean Series will be held on November 14 at Gocheok Sky Dome.
