Kochi: BJP state president K Surendran has said that the charge against senior leader Kummanam Rajasekharan in the Aranmula financial fraud case was a conspiracy by the state government. This is an attempt to destroy the BJP. The case against Kummanam will be dealt with politically and legally. Kummanam belongs to pure politics. Surendran said that Kummanam is eligible to be a member of the Padmanabhaswamy temple governing body.

The BJP will hold a state-wide Karidina on Friday against the stand of the Kerala Police which has filed a false case against Kummanam. Activists will raise black flags at houses and intersections to protest. Surendran added that the BJP was conducting a manhunt by filing a case against Kummanam, a government that was ashamed of its gold smuggling.

A case has been registered against Kummanam on the complaint of CR Harikrishnan, a resident of Aranmula Putherath house, for embezzling Rs 28.75 lakh by promising to be a partner in a plastic-free paper cotton mix banner manufacturing company. There are 9 accused including Kummanam. Kummanam’s former PA Praveen is the first accused.
