Kuwait with scientific efforts to improve the quality of education

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education has launched a scientific effort to improve the quality of education. The move comes after the school was closed for a year and a half after it was found to have affected students’ academic performance.

Diagnostic and analytical tests performed on students found that long-term closure adversely affected many of the students’ abilities. The Ministry is of the view that this can only be addressed through follow-up activities that focus on each student individually.

The authorities said that a plan will be prepared for this in consultation with experts. Decisions on class time and attendance will be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Health. Currently, each student attends class on alternate days. Officials said they would consider changing this.

Curriculum cuts this year are also being considered. Kovid plans to cut the curriculum in the first semester in light of the difficulties of working fully in the background. Night classes are also being considered to replace lost study time due to Kovid restrictions.
