The Korean national football team defeated Lebanon to win their first victory in the 2022 World Cup final qualifiers in Qatar.

Korea Republic, led by coach Paulo Bento, won 1-0 thanks to Kwon Chang-hoon (Suwon)’s goal in the 15th minute of the second half in the second leg of the World Cup final qualifier against Lebanon at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on the 7th.

South Korea, ranked 36th in FIFA rankings, had a disappointing result in the first match held in Seoul on the 2nd, with a 0-0 draw with FIFA ranking 70th Iraqi, but reported their first victory in the second leg.

Korea, which has accumulated 4 points with 1 win and 1 draw from 2 matches, first pushed out Iran (3 points) and United Arab Emirates (1 point) to take the lead in Group A.

Syria-UAE, Iraq and Iran are scheduled to face each other in the early morning of the 8th Korean time, so there is a possibility of a change in the rankings later.

Bentuho will play their 3rd home game against Syria on October 7th and their 4th away game against Iran on the 12th.
