Kwon Soon-woo will be competing in Olympic tennis for the first time in 13 years as a Korean athlete since Lee Hyung-taek at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The Korea Tennis Association announced that it has received confirmation from the International Tennis Federation for Kwon Soon-woo’s men’s singles participation in the Tokyo Olympics.

Kwon Soon-woo, ranked 77th in the men’s professional tennis singles world rankings, did not secure the Olympic singles qualification for the top 56 players, but some players in the previous turn were missing, so he took the opportunity to participate.
