Kyungil University’s curling team selects for national team with undefeated win

[한국대학신문 이원지 기자] Kyungil University (President Hyun-tae Jeong) curling team won the ‘Korea Junior Curling Championship’ held at the Uiseong Curling Center from the 22nd to the 26th with an undefeated victory. It’s been a month since he won the men’s general division undefeated in the last ’20th President’s National Curling Competition’.

The ‘Korea Junior Curling Championship’ is a competition that only players under the age of 21 participate, and it also selects the junior national team. The Kyungil University curling team, who won the championship, will be selected as the junior national team and participate in the World Junior Curling Championship to be held in Finland in January next year.

Skip Lee Jae-beom, third Kim Eun-bin, second Jeong Jeong-min, and lead Choi Jae-hyeok participated in their respective roles and played 6 matches and won all of them. In the semifinals, they defeated the Gangwon-do Curling Federation, and in the finals, defeated the Uijeongbu City G Sports Club 6-4.

Curling club skip Lee Jae-beom (a freshman at Kyungil University) said, “I was more nervous and nervous than other times because it was a match for the junior national team. During the remaining period until the World Junior Curling Competition, I will focus on training and show good results.”
