Mangalore: A person in Mangalore has NIP symptoms. The lab technician at Wenlock Hospital experienced symptoms. His semen samples were sent to the Institute of Virology, Pune for testing. It is reported that he came in contact with a person from Kerala.
He started showing symptoms last day. According to the Karnataka Health Department, he had recently traveled to Goa and had come in contact with a man who had returned from Kerala. Officials said the risk of contracting the Nipah virus was low and was waiting for results from Pune.
Meanwhile, vigilance has been beefed up in Mangalore following the detection of NIP symptoms. The decision has been taken to tighten the check on those coming from Kerala after crossing the Thalappadi check post.
