The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced today (31st) that it has launched a ‘GTX Promotion Team’ composed of 15 dedicated personnel to accelerate the expansion of GTX to solve the commuting difficulties of citizens in the metropolitan area and will start full operation from the first week of next month.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport emphasized, “The promotion team plans to push forward the GTX A B C business without any setbacks, and in particular, to advance the opening schedule of Line A, which is scheduled to be completed in 2024,” the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport emphasized.
In addition, he added, “We plan to speed up the selection of private operators, negotiations, and detailed design for routes B and C as soon as possible.”
Regarding the C route (Deokjeong ~ Suwon), he explained, “We will start construction next year and open in 2028, and the B route (Songdo ~ Maseok) will start construction in 2024 and open in 2030.”
The promotion team is also promoting GTX network expansion projects such as extension of A, B, C routes and new D, E, and F routes. ” said the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained that the launch of such a promotion group was part of a follow-up measure to President Yoon Seok-yeol’s order to “promote the GTX project to alleviate traffic inconveniences in the metropolitan area” at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport work report on the 18th.
