Laura’s father made his maiden voyage 60 years after NASA launched the famous suborbital NASA spacecraft. Laura’s father was in school when Laura first went to space. Laura was one of six passengers in the cabin of the Blue Origin’s New Shepherd spacecraft. Alan Shepard embarked on space travel on May 5, 1961.
Blue Origin’s crew consisted of six people. Blue Origin has named their suborbital rocket the New Shepherd in honor of Alan Shepherd. The voyage started from a launch pad in West Texas.
Laura runs an organization that raises scientific awareness among college students and raises money for it. Laura said in a video that she is very proud to follow in her father’s footsteps.
Laura Churchill was one of two guests selected for Saturday’s flight without a Blue Origin reward. Another was Michael Trahan, 50, a retired National Football League player and co – host of the ABC television show Good Morning America. They are traveling with four rich people who have paid a lot of money for the trip. The other four are aerospace industry executive Dylan Taylor, engineer and investor Ivan Dick, venture capitalist Lane Bess and his 23 – year – old son Cameron Bess. Base made history as the first pair to fly together in space, according to a Blue Origin report.
Their newly built space station includes seven crew members, three visitors to the International Space Station, and three Chinese taekwondos. It was the third space tourism aircraft for Blue Origin, a company founded two decades ago by Bezos, founder and executive chairman of Amazon.com Inc. This is the company’s first flight with six passengers
Bezos traveled with his brother Mark Bezos, Octogenarian women aviator Wally Funk and 18-year-old Oliver Demon on the inaugural flight of Blue Origin in July.
