Ajesh Manohar wins red flag in Piravom by-election LDF wins Piravom by-election Dr. CPI (M) in Edappillichira, 14th Division, Corporation. Ajesh Manohar defeated UDF candidate Arun Kallarakkal by 22 votes.
The by-election was held following the death of LDF member George Narekodan. He won by a majority of 116 votes.
He has served as former Municipal Councilor, MG University Chairman, Talayolaparambu DB College Union Chairman, Kaduthuruthy Polytechnic Union Chairman, DYFI Block Secretary and CPI (M) Area Committee Member.
He is currently the CPI (M) Mulakkulam South branch secretary. He holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in special education. UDF candidate Arun is the Congress-Block Vice President and former Chairman of the Municipal Standing Committee.
The LDF and UDF have 13 seats each in the 27 divisions of the city council. The BJP candidate was PC Vinod.
