Led by Rituraj, supported by Rayudu; Chennai’s better score against Gujarat

Mumbai: The Chennai Gujarat Titans have set a target of 170 for victory over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2021. Rituraj Gaikwad (73)’s half-century gave Chennai a commanding lead as they lost the toss and opted to bat in Pune. Ambati Rayudu, who scored 46, also came up with the opportunity. Alsari Joseph took two wickets for Gujarat.

Chennai got off to a bad start. With just 32 runs on the scoreboard, Chennai lost Robin Uthappa (3) and Moin Ali (1). But at one end, Gaikwad held on and the run slipped. Rayudu also provided support. The duo added 92 runs. Alsari brought Rayudu into the hands of Vijay Shankar and brought Gujarat into the match. Meanwhile, Rituraj caught Yash Dayal. Gaekwad’s innings consisted of five fours and six sixes.

Shivam Dubey (19 off 17 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (22 off 12 balls) were the top scorers in the final over. Mohammad Shami and Yash Dayal took one wicket each.

Earlier, winning Gujarat captain Rashid Khan opted for bowling. Rashid Khan is leading Gujarat today due to the injury of Hardik Pandya. Gujarat is coming down with two changes. Matthew Wade was replaced by Wriddhiman Saha. Hardik was replaced by Alsari Joseph. Chennai has not changed. Currently, Gujarat tops the points table. They have eight points from five games. Chennai are ninth with just two points from five matches.
