Volleyball player Lee Da-young (25) refuted her husband Cho’s claim that she was receiving psychiatric treatment for verbal abuse and assault during her marriage.

On the 9th, Lee Da-young’s legal representative, Sejong law firm, delivered the client’s position about her husband Jo’s interview the day before.

According to the report, Sejong said, “Dayoung married Jo in April 2018 and maintained their marriage for 4 months, and then separated.”

He also added, “Mr. Cho repeatedly asked for 500 million won in cash or real estate owned by Lee Da-young as a prerequisite for divorce.”

He continued, “I have been constantly harassing the client by saying that if I do not comply with these demands, I will expose my marriage.”

He continued, “Even though married life should be protected as privacy, Mr. Cho did not disclose his identity and interviewed Lee Da-young. This cannot be justified for any reason.”

He also said, “The interview is a one-sided claim by Mr. Cho. Asking for a sincere apology also showed interest in gaining economic benefits by threatening Lee Da-young.”

Earlier on the 8th, TV Chosun reported on an interview with Cho, who was receiving psychiatric treatment for Lee Da-young’s abusive language and domestic violence during her marriage.

According to the report, her husband, Jo, claimed that she had been habitually abused by Lee Da-young. Following this, Lee Da-young was again criticized by public opinion after the school violence controversy.
