Lee Eun-hae (31), a suspect in the ‘valley murder case’, claimed in the defendant’s newspaper before the prosecution that she did not force her husband to dive on the day of the incident.

On the 23rd, the 15th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court (Chief Judge Lee Kyu-hoon) held an inquiry of the accused in the 16th case of Mr. Lee and Mr Cho, who were charged with murder.

On this day, Lee replied, “Do you remember the defendant saying ‘run, brother’ when the victim hesitated?” “I never said ‘run, brother’ in my memory.” When the prosecutor asked, “Didn’t you even suggest that only men go diving once?”, Lee said, “There was a story that said, ‘It’s not just men, let’s get organised. and go diving once.”

Lee also claimed that her husband did not refuse to dive, and that no one in the group said he did not want to run. To the prosecutor’s question, “Why didn’t the accused swim directly to the diving spot or to the water where the victim fell?” he replied, “I only ride water skis, but I can’t swim.”

As for why she made herself the beneficiary of her husband’s 800 million won life insurance, she argued, “My brother appointed him, and I didn’t.”

Assistant Jo Hyun-soo (30) also denied the charge of murder completely, saying that he tried to save Lee’s husband on the day of the incident.

Cho said, “I rode a tube to the last point my brother (victim) saw, put on goggles, and looked under the water.

In relation to the attempted murder, Cho also reversed a statement he left during the prosecution’s investigation to the effect that “I tried to kill Lee’s husband, Yoon Mo, by feeding him poisonous puffer fish in 2019.”

Cho said, “When I went to check the results of the forensic test after my mobile phone was confiscated, I was very surprised when I saw the contents of the blowfish. “He demanded a mandatory investigation by the prosecution.

Lee and Cho’s trial was due to take place that day, but sentencing was postponed as the court asked the prosecution to review the charges relating to the murder.

Lee was arrested and charged with murdering her husband, Jo, and her husband, Jo, at 8:24 pm on June 30, 2019 in Yongso Valley in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. Prosecutors determined that the two killed Yoon, who could not swim, by making him jump into the water without life-saving equipment.

Prosecutors believe they committed the crime intentionally in order to receive 800 million won in life insurance in Yoon’s name.
