Lee Hwa-young received a photo of the meeting of ‘Ssangbang-wool Kim Seong-tae and North Korean Kim Seong-hye’ and said, “Awesome”

It was reported on the 28th that the prosecution had received reports on illegal payments, such as Lee Hwa-yeong, former peace vice governor in Gyeonggi-do, who was involved in “Ssangbangul’s suspicion of illegal payments to North Korea,” and received a photo of former Ssangbangul chairman Kim Seong-tae meeting a North Korean figure in 2018.

Summarizing this magazine’s coverage, former Chairman Kim is said to have met with Kim Seong-hye, head of the Chosun Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, at a North Korean restaurant in Shenyang, China in November 2018. However, it was reported that the prosecution secured a statement that Ahn Boo-soo, chairman of the Asia-Pacific Association, took a picture and sent it to Vice Chairman Bang Yong-cheol of Ssangbang-wool, and that Vice Chairman Bang Bang presented the picture to r former lieutenant governor Lee. Former Chairman Kim is said to have said that Ssangbangwool would donate over 5 million dollars for the smart farm project in Gyeonggi-do.

Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office 6th Criminal Division (Director Kim Young-nam), who recently secured former Chairman Kim’s statement containing these details, continues the investigation by reporting that former Vice Governor Lee has received a report real time on Ssangbangul payment to North Korea. At the time, former deputy governor Lee confirmed that the North Korean figure in the photo was Director Kim, known as a powerhouse in North Korean foreign policy, and sent a message saying “Jackpot”. Former vice governor Lee currently maintains the position that the payments of Gyeonggi Province and Ssangbangwool to North Korea are irrelevant and unknown.

Meanwhile, the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office plans to prosecute former chairman Kim’s former chief of financial affairs, Ssangbang-ul, as an accomplice on charges of embezzlement and breach of trust. The prosecution has applied charges of embezzlement and breach of trust of 63.5 billion won, violation of the Capital Markets Act, and violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act in detaining and indicting former chairman Kim.
