Then, host Stephen Colbert asked Lee Jung-jae, “Did you know that (‘Squid Game’) would turn out this well from the beginning?” When I first read the script, it wasn’t like that. But on the first day of filming, I thought that something was going to work out. But I didn’t expect that I would be here with Steven today.”

Hearing that some people are uncomfortable with the violence of ‘Squid Game’, Lee Jung-jae said, “I think those who really sympathize with ‘Squid Game’ are those who have experienced financial difficulties or violence. It’s about the humanity we’ve lost in living in an extremely competitive society. Rather, it is not that cruel compared to the realistic, very violent society we live in.”

In addition, Stephen Colbert said, “In Korea, he was an actor everyone knew for several decades, but most Americans came to know Lee Jung-jae through this drama. How are you? Now, celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio want to take a selfie together.”

Lee Jung-jae said, “It was really unbelievable. It is said that you enjoyed ‘Squid Game’. He was lucky to appear there, and he said that he was good at acting. It was like a dream,” he said.

Netizens who saw the video reacted to Lee’s greeting, such as “He showed the politeness of the East well” and “Global star Lee Jung-jae’s Korean-style greeting is cool”, etc.

Meanwhile, ‘Squid Game’ proved the power of K-content by maintaining the longest No. In the drama, Lee Jung-jae played the role of Seong Ki-hoon, a divorced man who was laid off, a kangaroo tribe, who lives a life of gamble and debt. Director Hwang Dong-hyeok, who directed ‘Squid Game’, foretold season 2 and revealed Sung Ki-hoon’s comeback, raising expectations.
