“There are allegations of re-offending. Let’s clean it up and let’s go.”

On the 3rd, a negative fight between the first and second place runners in the Democratic Party’s presidential election turned into a criminal history controversy on the 3rd. Rep. Kim Doo-kwan, the Democratic presidential candidate, said on the same day, “People’s interest is growing due to unnecessary drunk driving remarks at the primary candidate’s camp.” I’ll do it first. Let’s disclose all criminal records under 1 million won,” he wrote on Facebook.

This is a follow-up offensive following the attack by former Democratic Party representative Lee Nak-yeon the day before, saying, “Tell me if there was another drunk driving incident that was not in the proof of Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung’s criminal record (2004).” The governor Lee said, “It is true that this candidate had drunk driving once in 2004, and there was never another drunk driving incident. Please respectfully consider yourself.” (Sp. Song Pyung-soo), but the aftershock continued for the second day.

Governor Lee met with reporters at the National Assembly on the same day and said, “I once again apologize for the fact that I was drunk and driving without any excuses. All criminal records have been made public,” he said. “It’s not true that you drink twice, but if you respond to this kind of no-question offensive, you won’t be able to get out of the ‘one-time drinker’ frame” (a camp official) said the decision of the governor.

However, right after Rep. Kim Doo-gwan’s proposal, former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun expressed his intention to “respond immediately” and posted on Facebook, “Please respond to the Democratic Party’s ‘clean verification team’ that I proposed.” Former Chairman Lee Nak-yeon also took the form of participating, saying, “As now, raising suspicions outside the market is likely to lead to a workshop that causes fatigue to the people.”

In particular, the former representative camp continued to attack the governor’s drunk driving problem. “If you leave it alone, you will be bitten by the opposition in the finals again” (Metropolitan lawmaker), “We can’t believe only the words of the actress, so let’s go ahead and verify the facts clearly” (camp staff). Actor Kim Bu-seon said on his Facebook on the same day, “(The governor) said that he was caught twice already. Candidate Jae-myung Lee is betting 18 trillion won on two or more drunk driving convictions.” In response, the re-elected member of the branch office expressed displeasure in a phone call with the JoongAng Ilbo, saying, “How about hiring an actress as a spokesperson for Nak-yeon Lee’s camp?”

Meanwhile, at the ‘Basic Housing Policy Presentation Online Press Conference’ this afternoon, Governor Lee said in relation to the Moon Jae-in administration’s real estate policy, “It is not a failure of the president, but a failure due to the resistance of the bureaucrats.” It is the responsibility of the ministries and prime ministers to implement them properly, but we did not do that,” he said. The current government’s real estate situation is being blamed on former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon and former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun. Also, as a housing policy, he said, “We will supply more than 2.5 million housing units within the term of office, and of these, 1 million units will be supplied as basic housing to increase the ratio of long-term rental public housing (including land lease sales) to 10%.”
