Lee So-mi, ‘ahead of Lim Hee-jung and Lee Ga-young’, tied for 5th place at PLK Pacific Rings Korea 1R [KLPGA]

[골프한국 하유선 기자] Lee So-mi (23), who has five wins on the Korean Women’s Professional Golf tour (KLPGA), took her first step smoothly on the Stella-Luna Course (par 72, 6,549 yards) at Twin Doves Golf Club in Ho Chi Minh City , Vietnam, where she has a good memory of coming second.

The KLPGA Hyosung Tour Championship was held in Vietnam every December for three years between 2017 and 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2019 competition, which was won by Lee Da-yeon (25), Lee So-mi jumped to second place only on the last day.

On the course that made a comeback after 3 years, Lee So-mi recorded 5 birdies and 1 bogey in the 1st round of the KLPGA Tour PLK Pacific Rings Korea Championship (total prize money of 700 million won) on 16th, tied with Choi Ye -rim (23), Kim Ji-hyun (31), and Lee Seung-yeon (24) Finished 5th (4 under par 68 strokes).

Lee So-mi, who joined Lim Hee-jeong (22) and Lee Ga-young (23) in the final group on hole 1, picked up birdies on holes 2 (par 4), 5 (par 3), and 8 ( par 4), reduced by 3 strokes in the first half. The bogey from the 11th hole (par 5) was found straight away with a birdie on the 12th hole (par 4), followed by a birdie on the 16th hole (par 4).

Lim Hee-jung, who started the 2023 season with a tie for 6th alongside Lee So-mi at the Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open, the previous tournament, started smoothly with consecutive bogeys on the 1st and 2nd holes (above par 4). ) on the first day of the Vietnam tournament.

Lim Hee-jung, who birdied her first on hole 6 (par 5), showed her concentration by birdieing holes 15 (par 4) and 18 (par 5) without an additional bogey. Lim Hee-jung, who scored a 1-under par 71, is tied for 32nd.

Lee Ga-young, who made par saves in the first five holes, returned the stroke count to where it started with consecutive birdies on holes 6 and 7 and consecutive bogeys on holes 8 and 9. In the second half, he recorded a bogey on the 14th hole (par 3) and stayed in a tie for 52nd place with a 1-over par 73 stroke.

As the second round of this tournament is organized according to the results of the first day, Lee So-mi will leave on the second day at 11:40 am on the 17th, accompanied by Kim Ji-hyeon and Kim Min-seon 7.
