According to the legal community on the 28th, PD Lee recently filed a defamation complaint against Yoon Ho-jung, chairman of the Democratic Party’s emergency response committee, Won Hee-ryong, nominee for the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and a netizen who left malicious comments.
In an interview with Sports Kyunghyang, lawyer Jang Ji-won of Woo-myeon, the legal representative for Lee PD, said, “There are contents in the complaint about the ‘self-employed killer’ mentioned in some parts, but the main part is the content related to the death of Kim Young-ae.”
On the 28th, through the YouTube channel ‘Lee Young-don TV’, PD Lee said, “In the case of the Daewang Castella case, it has been reported several times that it has nothing to do with the PD, and the Yellow Earth Pack case was also finally acquitted in the court. Politicians like this fact I don’t think he made such a claim openly without knowing it. Legal action is inevitable to restore his reputation.”
Regarding the controversy over yellow clay packs related to actor Kim Young-ae, he said, “In the broadcast titled ‘Shock! Heavy metal detection in yellow clay packs’, heavy metal tests were conducted twice on all products sold on the market, and the results were broadcast.” “I filed civil and criminal lawsuits against the producer and the crew for ‘iron powder’, a part of the broadcast, but they all went to the Supreme Court and were acquitted.”
PD Lee also posted on his YouTube channel on the 25th, saying, “During last year’s election, Democratic Party leader Yun Ho-jung referred to me as a ‘pronoun of fake news’ and expressed it as a symbol of ‘bad broadcast’ and ‘bad news’.” did.
He continued, “(Chairman Yoon) misrepresented a famous actor who died as if he had died because of me, and also claimed that ‘many self-employed people complained of damage due to my broadcasting'” and criticized it as “personality murder.”
Also, during the TV debate in the presidential election last year, candidate Won said to Rep. Hong that “this PD is a self-employed killer that everyone knows,” he argued, saying, “I seriously damaged my reputation in the debate that the whole nation was watching.”

On the other hand, in October 2007, in the KBS ‘Lee Young-don PD’s Consumer Complaint’ program, ‘Shock! A broadcast titled ‘Detecting heavy metals in loess packs’ was aired. ‘Chamtowon’, which made loess packs that appeared in the broadcast, eventually went bankrupt as sales plummeted after this broadcast, and they sued this PD for defamation.
The Supreme Court ruled not guilty, saying, “The report content is false, but it is in the public interest. It is difficult to see that there was an intention to obstruct the work of the victim’s company by distributing false information to the accused.”
Kim Young-ae divorced her husband, who was the chairman of the yellow earth pack company, as her business declined after broadcasting and legal disputes. She died in 2017 after battling pancreatic cancer in 2012.
