Lenovo launches “the world’s lightest 14-inch OLED laptop” Yoga Slim 7 Carbon

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon

At the Lenovo Tech World event in 2021, Lenovo announced three new laptop products. The most eye-catching of these is undoubtedly the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, which is known as the “world’s lightest” 14-inch OLED notebook, which relies on the use of carbon fiber and magnesium aluminum alloy to control its weight to 1.1 kg. However, the number of OLED screen notebook products on the market has only recently increased, so I don’t know how long this title will last. Yoga Slim 7 Carbon uses the highest Ryzen 7 5800U processor, with a choice of internal display or NVIDIA MX450 standalone display, with a maximum of 16GB memory and 1TB M.2 SSD. The main screen is a QHD+ (2,880 x 1,800, 16:10) resolution panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, and supports DisplayHDR 500 certification, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and Delta E <2.

If 14-inch is too small, the 16-inch Yoga Slim 7 Pro was also released. It uses a 16:10 QHD IPS panel with a maximum brightness of 500nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Like Slim 7 Carbon, Slim 7 Pro is based on the AMD Ryzen platform and can be equipped with up to Ryzen 7 5800H processor and RTX 3050 independent display, plus 16GB RAM and 1TB M.2 SSD.

Finally, there is the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook with a tablet and keyboard cover. It uses a 13.3-inch OLED panel, giving it a 100% DCI-PC color gamut, which seems to be rare among Chromebooks. The IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook uses the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 platform and can be equipped with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of eMMC SSD.

Yoga Slim 7 Carbon starts at US$1,290 in the United States, Yoga Slim 7 Pro starts at US$1,449, and IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook starts at US$430. All three will be listed in North America in October. As for our side, it will be announced by Lenovo.
