Let the World Youth Summit build bridges between nations and cultures!

Cardinal Kevin Farrell, President of the Vatican’s Department for Laity, Family and Life, opened a three-day international conference in Fatima on Monday (17/10/22) in preparation for the World Church level youth meeting to be held in Lisbon, Portugal from August 1-6 , 2023. He drew attention to the need for them to be leaders in the preparations for the youth meeting.

Cardinal Kevin Farrell said the next world youth meeting is an open platform where youth can find Christ and see their calling in life.

He, who is president of the Vatican’s Department of Laity, Family and Life, was inaugurating a three-day international conference in Fatima on Monday (17/10/22) to prepare for the global youth gathering at church level to be held in Lisbon, Portugal from August 1-6, 2023. Around 300 delegates from more than 100 countries are attending this meeting which ends on Wednesday the 19th.

Cardinal Kevin Farrell wished that the next Youth Day, which was postponed for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, would be a new beginning for us and the community. He said that this face to face meeting should bridge the gap between nations and cultures and this is what the World Youth Forum has always aimed for since its establishment, this message never gets old and its great need today. He also drew attention to the need for the youth to be leaders in the preparations for this youth gathering.

Two international conferences are held regularly as part of preparations for the youth meeting at a global church level. The first of these will take place in Rome and the second year before the youth meeting, in the country or city that hosts the meeting.
