The fight for the Purple Cap is in full swing in the 15th season of the IPL. Rajasthan Royals’ Chahal and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s spinner Hazaranga are tied for first and second place respectively. Chahal returned to the top with a wicket against the Lucknow Super Giants yesterday. Now, Chahal is open about Hazare’s wicket-taking.
Chahal said he was happy that Hazaranga took the wicket and that he was like a brother. The two played together for Bangalore last year. He was speaking to the media after yesterday’s match. Chahal added that Kuldeep, who was his spin partner in the Indian team, was also happy to take the wicket.
Despite topping the Purple Cup, Chahal did not fare well yesterday. He took one wicket for 42 runs in four overs. Lucknow won the toss and elected to field. Chahal got a wicket because of Sanju’s huge stumping.
Chahal has taken 24 wickets in 13 matches. Hasaranga has taken 23 wickets in all these matches. Rabada is third with 21 wickets in 11 matches. Kuldeep Yadav is sixth with 18 wickets in 12 matches.
