Lewis Hamilton, all strategies backfire “all disasters have fallen” / Mercedes F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Final[F1-Gate .com]

Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes F1 finished 10th in the final of the 2022 F1 Round 2 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton ended up losing Q1 in Saturday’s qualifying. There were some brilliance in the final on Sunday, but the two strategies to recover did not go as planned.

Lewis Hamilton chose to start the race with hard tires, but due to the Nicholas Latifi accident the advantage from the gambling was canceled in the early safety car and the rivals were durable on lap 15. I was able to switch to the compound.

Lewis Hamilton then extended his first stint waiting for the safety car to be introduced again, but he said he would get a similar “free stop” from multiple retirement virtual safety cars later in the race. Hope was hampered by the closure of the pit lane at a critical moment.

“At first I was struggling with the temperature of the tires, but then it started to get a little better and I started catching up with the people who came out before. The race was going relatively well with hard tires,” said Lewis Hamilton. Said.

“They (rivals) were wearing medium tires. The medium was starting to drop off and it was a really good stint. I was pushing.”

“I think I was running at about the same time as Russell wearing new hard tires, and the feeling was good at that point. Considering how old the hard tires were, I was able to set a reasonable time.”

However, on lap 36, Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas technically retired, and the timing of the subsequent VSC hampered his hope of a successful recovery.

“All the calamities struck while those cars were stopped,” said Lewis Hamilton.

“But the last strategy-I don’t know if it’s a strategy or just a VSC, but we lost a lot.”

“I’m disappointed, but I got at least one point. At least I got points for the team. Of course, the end result isn’t great.”

Lewis Hamilton agreed that since the end of last week’s opening round, the team hasn’t had enough time to make a lot of paced progress, as popping has also been busy dealing with issues.

“It’s only been a few days (from Bahrain),” Lewis Hamilton pointed out.

Today I couldn’t catch up with Haas at the end. They had power and when they overtook Magnussen early in the race they flew in and overtook me.”

“It’s not just one fix, it’s a few things involved. I don’t know how big the drag we are compared to the other teams, but it feels pretty big.”

“In terms of balance, the car felt good, but it wasn’t fast enough.”

“I’m sure there’s a lot to do, but I know I have a great team. We’re focused and trying to improve.”

“For now, we’re not fighting for the top steps. We’re still far away from the people before,” but we continue to work hard and keep fighting. That’s all we can do. “
