[천지일보=정다준 기자] Lexus Korea announced on the 27th that it will hold an online launch event for the premium hybrid sedan ‘New ES’ and begin full-scale sales.
The new ES, a partial change model of the 7th generation ES, has improved safety and convenience with some exterior design changes, advanced preventive safety technology, enhanced convenience specifications, and standard black box and high-pass installation. In addition, the New ES 300h ‘F SPORT’ model was also released.
Since its introduction in Korea in 2012, the ES300h has been selected as the best-selling car in the hybrid imported car sector for eight consecutive years as a core model of Lexus Korea. Cumulative sales of the ES300h exceeded 50,000 units.
The exterior design of the New ES further emphasized the elegance of the ES and added modernity. The front part emphasized the wide image with the front grill of the ‘L-Shape’ unit. The headlamps have been changed to rectangular LED lenses (Executive, F SPORT model specifications), and the daytime running lights and front turn indicators have been trimmed more three-dimensionally.
The interior features premium materials and meticulous finishes crafted by Lexus craftsmen. The comfortable upper and lower two-seat seats and the spacious second-row space provide Lexus-specific comfort.
The strong hybrid system of ES is equipped with a large-capacity battery and two motors in a 2.5ℓ D-4S gasoline engine. From low speed to high speed, the motor actively intervenes to deliver powerful power and high fuel efficiency (compound fuel economy standard) of 17.2 km/ℓ (New ES 300h) and 16.8 km/ℓ (New ES 300h F SPORT).
In addition, based on ES’s Lexus GA-K platform with a low center of gravity design and optimal weight distribution, the New ES is characterized by intuitive operability such as deceleration, steering and acceleration, and immediate response depending on driving conditions. Through a change in the rear suspension member brace design and a performance damper (Executive, F SPORT model specification) that effectively absorbs body vibrations, it provides comfortable and stable driving unique to the New ES.
Nobuyuki Takemura, president of Toyota Korea, said about the charm of the ES300h, “It is a strong hybrid that performs the most efficient driving using an engine and an electric motor. I hope,” he said.
The selling price of the Lexus New ES 300h, which starts sales on this day, is based on 3.5% individual consumption tax, ▲Luxury 61.9 million won, Luxury Plus 64 million won, Executive 68.6 million won, and New ES 300h F SPORT (sale from November) 71.1 million won.
