LG Electronics sponsors ‘Pak Se-ri Golf Event’… Supporting the dreams of children with disabilities

[e대한경제=김민주 기자]LG Electronics announced on the 27th that it has participated as the main sponsor in the ‘LG Electronics Pak Se-ri Global Game Golf Tournament’ held at Bear’s Best Cheongna Golf Club in Incheon on the 26th.

This competition is a charity event designed to support children with disabilities and those who dream of golf.

A total of 12 people participated in the tournament, including golf empress Se-ri Pak, Anika Sorenstam, and Lorena Ochoa, 6 LPGA legends, and 6 active Korean women professional golfers.

On this day, a total of 200 million won was raised by adding support for charity events to the befriending fund, which was built up to 50 million won by 1 million won each time players recorded a birdie.

The Se-ri Pak Hope Foundation donated 50 million won to the Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital immediately after the match ended. The hospital plans to purchase an LG StandbyME 30s with the donation and use it for rehabilitation treatment for children and young people with disabilities.

Other donations are managed by the Se-ri Pak Hope Foundation and used to nurture talented junior golfers in golf.

Meanwhile, LG Electronics is supporting students with limited mobility through a donation drive for ‘LG Standby Me’, which was developed to allow fixed TVs to be moved freely to innovate the customer experience.

From the end of last year to the first half of this year, the ‘LG Standby Me’ was presented to 55 people who were finally chosen after receiving requests for stories of inconvenience when moving to look for a fixed TV while receiving treatment or studying for disability.
