Aryanad (Thiruvananthapuram): A student was seriously injured when a thunderbolt fell on his leg like a bullet during heavy rain. Ambadi (17) sustained deep injuries below the knee in his right leg at Theviyarukunnu Ambadi Bhavan. And was stabbed near the wound. The incident took place on Sunday evening. It is extremely rare for lightning to cause deep wounds in this way.
The incident took place while standing in front of the house. He was rushed to the Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Vithura Hospital. Ambadi, an Aryanad Govt. ITI student, is the son of S Binu and KP Anitha Kumari. Disaster Management Authority officials said it was rare for people to be injured by lightning. They said they would investigate the incident in detail.
