Lincoln tennis boasts 5 individual titles, 5th consecutive team title

Lincoln's women's tennis team won their fifth consecutive state championship this week in Rapid City.

The Lincoln tennis team added another state championship to its collection on Friday, claiming five individual titles en route to its fifth consecutive team crown.

Ava Leonard (Flight 2), Elle Dobbs (Flight 3) and Avery Blackman (Flight 4) took home singles titles for the Patriots, who finished 42.5 points clear of Rapid City Stevens in the team standings. In doubles, top-tier duo Johana Brower and Leonard won their third consecutive title, while Dobbs and Blackman defeated O’Gorman in the Flight 2 final.

The Patriots also finished second on flights 1 (Johana Brower) and 5 (Bergen That), as well as third place on flight 6 (Charlotte Crawford). That and Crawford finished second in double flight 3.

Lincoln, who amassed 547 points, has now won 15 state championships.
