English Premier League (EPL) Liverpool striker Sadio Mane (30, Senegal, photo) has transferred to Bayern Munich, a prestigious German Bundesliga team.

Munich officially announced the signing of Mane on the 23rd. The contract period is until June 30, 2025. According to the BBC, the British media, the transfer fee is 35 million pounds (about 55.8 billion won). Munich have made two bids for Mane from Liverpool, but have been rejected. “I am very happy to come to Munich,” Manet said. “I was interested in this great club from the beginning,” he said. “Now is the right time for a challenge. I want to achieve a lot with this team.”

Manet, who made his professional debut in Metz (France) in 2011, went through Salzburg (Austria) and Southampton (England) before joining Liverpool in 2016 for a transfer fee of £34 million. He scored 120 goals in 269 appearances over six seasons for Liverpool. During the 2018-2019 season, he and team-mate Mohammed Salah (30) were crowned EPL co-scorer with 22 goals. He was also named to the English Professional Footballers Association (PFA) Team of the Year four times.

Munich President Herbert Heiner welcomed the signing, saying “Mane will increase the attractiveness of Munich and the Bundesliga”. “Legendary goalkeeper” Oliver Kahn, Munich CEO, also welcomed, saying, “There are few players who have achieved success at the world’s highest level for a long time like Mane.”
