Liverpool wins 7-0 over Manchester United, led by Salah

[뉴스더원=김준환 대학생기자] Liverpool in the English Premier League won 7-0 in the 26th round of the 22-23 EPL (Premier League) season against Manchester United held at Anfield, their home stadium, on the 6th (Korean time).

Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo started the scoring. On 42 minutes of the first half, Hakpo rattled the net with a right-footed shot from inside the penalty box, signaling the start of Liverpool’s goal feast.

As the second half began, Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez scored a header, followed by a neat Gakpo strike to score several goals.

Liverpool, who brought the atmosphere perfectly, pounced on Manchester United’s mistake and Mohamed Salah’s powerful right-footed shot hit the post and into the net. In the 30th minute of the second half, Núñez shook the net with his header once again to make it 5-0.

The score continued, and in the 37th minute of the second half, Salah scored a multi-goal goal by receiving Roberto Firmino’s pass in front of the goal. The goal also made Salah the team’s top scorer with 129 goals for Liverpool.

Later, in the 43rd minute of the second half, Roberto Firmino, who left the team at the end of this season, also scored a goal, ending the scoring feast.

Liverpool have won the most goals in history against Manchester United. Liverpool broke the record for most goals scored against Manchester United in 128 years, defeating Manchester United 7-1 in the Second Division in October 1895. Manchester United suffered another seven-goal defeat in 92 years on after a 7-0 defeat against Wolverhampton in December 1931.

Liverpool are also unbeaten in their last 7 home games against Manchester United. Liverpool have not lost since January 2016 against Manchester United at Anfield. Liverpool’s Salah showed Manchester United a strong team by scoring goals in six consecutive games.
