Local Family Story Share about Dementia On 60 Minutes

Mark Johnson, who is 40 years of age, is diagnosed with Frontotemporal dementia, or FTD. The largest number of dementia in Americans is about 60 years of age. The amount of FTD is not clear, but it attacks the front lobes and time of the brain, which regulates personality and speech, and, as now, it is always fatal.

"It depends very much on what part of the brain usually affects these dementias, personality changes are so that the person suddenly takes an oath or does things just out of the norm for them," a doctor Mayo Clinic Health Systems Northridge Campus, Jennifer Johnson said.

Mark and his wife Amy moved to Windom in 2006. On 60 minutes, Amy shared her family's story, saying she was noticing unusual behavior in Mark three years ago.
