Low over rate; A setback for India and England

Nottingham: England and India suffered a setback in the first Test of the series following a low over rate. Both teams have dropped two points each from the ICC Test Championship points table. In addition, both teams must pay a penalty of 40% of the match fee.

The first match of the five-Test India-England series ended in a draw. While India had a chance to win, the rains were getting worse. With nine wickets in hand on the fifth day, India needed 150 runs to win. But with the rain, the match ended in a draw.

The second Test starts at Lord’s on August 12. India and England currently have only two points in the World Test Championship table.
