Jinyoung Ko (26, Solaire), who won the final match of the 2021 season on the LPGA Tour in the US, maintained the second place in the women’s golf world rankings.
Jinyoung Ko marked 2nd place in the women’s golf world ranking announced on the 23rd (Korean time). The gap with No. 1 Nelly Corda (USA) narrowed to 0.13 points.
Jinyoung Ko scored 9.03 points last week, 0.95 points behind Koda, which scored 9.98 points. However, she won the LPGA Tour CME Group Tour Championship, which ended on the 22nd, and raised it to 9.94 this week. Coda, who tied for fifth at the CME Group Tour Championship, scored 10.07 points, and the difference between the two scores was greatly reduced.
However, since the CME Group Tour Championship was the final match of the season, the world rankings are not expected to change much for the time being until the 2022 season begins.
Jinyoung Ko failed to reclaim the world No. 1 ranking, but ended this season in a pleasant way. With the victory in the final match, he overtook Koda and swept the LPGA individual titles, including Player of the Year, Prize Money, and Most Wins in the 2021 season.
Inbee Park (33‧KB Financial Group) and Seyoung Kim (28‧Mediheal) remained in third and fourth places. Hyo-Joo Kim (26‧Lotte) maintained ninth place, and four Korean players were in the top ten.
