“Lula Lee Sang-min checked the remaining debt”… The reality of ‘debt cosplay’ that YouTubers uncovered

YouTuber Lee Jin-ho uncovered the suspicion of ‘debt cosplay’ of singer Lee Sang-min, a former member of the group Lula.

[아시아경제 온라인이슈팀] Regarding the suspicion of Lee Sang-min’s ‘debt cosplay’ by singer Lee Sang-min from the group Lula, YouTuber Jin-ho Lee said, “Recently, the debt has increased again.”

On the 28th, a video titled ‘I checked Lee Sang-min’s actual debt’ was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho’.

In this video, Lee Jin-ho said, “Lee Sang-min’s ‘debt cosplay’ controversy has been a hot topic for celebrities for a while. For some reason, his debt is not going down.” He said, “Even though he was paid 6 to 7 million won per episode and wore 10 million won shoes and luxury clothes, Lee Sang-min was always referred to as a debtor.”

He continued, “In 2016, Lee Sang-min said, ‘I will pay off a debt of 6.9 billion won next year,’ but he has not been able to repay it until 2022. Recently, a headwind blew by revealing that the debt, which had left 900 million won, had risen to 1.6 billion won again.”

He said, “Why does Lee Sang-min call himself a debtor? He had a strong view of it as a broadcast concept, but the first reason is the rent. Lee Sang-min, who lived in Yongsan with a monthly rent of 4 million won, recently moved to Paju with a deposit of 50 million won and a monthly rent of 2 million won. I moved. I called myself a debt collector, but since it is a single-story house with a balcony, the word ‘debt cosplay’ came out. Moreover, Lee Sang-min recently announced a coin investment. At that time, it was said that Lee Sang-min had invested at least 100 to 200 million won in coins. Considering this, it was a natural suspicion that it was difficult to see him as a debtor.”

However, soon after, Lee Jin-ho said, “As a result of intensive coverage of Lee Sang-min’s assets, the new house was quite a luxurious mansion on the air, but it was located in an outlying area, not the center, in Paju. Unlike the luxurious interior, the area around the house was under construction. Local real estate officials said they did not recommend the house because the amount of loans tied to this house was quite large. It was difficult to see that he deceived viewers, at least in terms of the monthly rent, as he was living in a property with risk.”

He also said, “I received a report that Lee Sang-min’s debt was a bad debt.” “(Lee Sang-min) has been repaying the debt by paying off the debt of the creditor with a small amount. There are an increasing number of cases,” he said.

He continued, “As Lee Sang-min’s broadcasting activities increased, creditors demanded a larger amount than the original repayment amount on the basis of interest and compensation for psychological damage. “As a result, only the three creditors who lent the most money remain. The two debtors have paid off almost all of their debts, and only the creditor with the largest amount of debt remains. The debt amounted to 900 million won, but it was the reason Lee Sang-min was able to breathe. This is also the reason why he said that he himself had reduced it to 900 million won.”

Lee Jin-ho said, “The problem is the creditor’s request. This is because he demanded 2.4 billion won because of interest and long-term debt. According to aides, Lee Sang-min suffered considerable mental difficulties because of this. In the end, legal representatives from both sides came to adjust the amount, and after labor, both sides finally settled their debt at 1.7 billion won at the end of last year.” Although he has had a difficult time, it is said that there are only three creditors left, and he is showing a willingness to repay by finalizing the agreement on the amount of debt at the end of last year. If you look at it, Lee Sang-min’s suspicion of ‘debt cosplay’ is somewhat exaggerated.”

Lee Jin-ho said, “Through a close aide, Lee Sang-min said, ‘I think viewers can feel that he is a cosplayer who is in debt enough. We will try to reduce it,'” he said.
