Maharashtra cabinet in crisis: BJP again for democratic coup | National | Deshabhimani

New Delhi: The BJP is all set to split the Shiv Sena and the Congress in Maharashtra and overthrow the grand coalition government. Public Works Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde with 21 MLAs enters a five-star hotel in Surat, Gujarat. BJP state president Chandrakant Patil has said that if Shinde wants to form a new cabinet over the Uddhav Thackeray government, it will definitely be considered. Some of the ruling Front MLAs had voted for BJP candidates in the recent Rajya Sabha and MLC elections. Shinde and his team flew to Gujarat on a chartered flight at around 7 pm on Monday.

With this, Shinde was removed from the leadership of the Legislative Assembly. Shiv Sena activists take to the streets to protest against the rebels. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar called on Uddhav Thackeray. NCP president Sharad Pawar has rushed to Mumbai from Delhi. “This is the third attempt to overthrow the grand coalition government,” Pawar told reporters in Delhi. PCC president Nana Patole has denied reports that Balasaheb Torath has resigned as Congress leader. Congress sent Kamal Nath as High Command Observer. Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis is spearheading the coup.

Compromise removal

Shiv Sena leaders Milind Narvekar and Ravindra Pathak arrived in Surat for a two-hour meeting with Shinde. Meanwhile, Shinde spoke to Uddhav Thackeray on the phone for 10 minutes. Shinde claims he has 35 MLAs with him. Shinde is reported to have said that he would not split the Shiv Sena if Uddhav agreed to join the BJP. Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Rawat said, “Everyone knows why Shiv Sena left the BJP and Shinde is a witness to it.” Shinde tweeted that he would not cheat for power as he follows the thoughts of Balasaheb and the lessons of Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Sahab. The Maharashtra cabinet will meet on Tuesday to discuss the crisis.
