Dravid, who is also the chairman of the National Cricket Academy, has also made notable achievements as a coach. He returned as the coach of the limited overs Indian cricket team led by Shikhar Dhawan after a tour of Sri Lanka yesterday. The Indian team that went under him in Sri Lanka did well and won the ODI series. Although the T20 series started with a win, Sri Lanka won the series by overcoming India, who had lost key players due to the Kovid plague crisis in the team.
Dravid has been instrumental in discovering the talent of young players and taking them to the international level. A handful of youngsters like Prithviraj Shah, Shubhman Gill and Sanju Samson, who are currently doing well for India, have developed their cricket careers under Rahul Dravid.
Rahul Dravid found such youngsters and prepared them so that even when the team of India’s top players went on tour in England, India was able to go to Sri Lanka with another team.
